Mission


The Mission of the Lumberton Recreation Department is to provide, operate, supervise and maintain a system of parks, playgrounds, facilities, and programs as a public service for the benefit of community morals, happiness, and welfare.

Lumberton Parks and Recreation Department offers the residents of Lumberton many diverse recreational opportunities. Facilities range from small community play-lots to a large natural park filled with trails


Activity Centers

Activity Centers are located throughout the city to include the Pine Street Activity Center which houses the majority of all Senior Citizen programs offered by the Lumberton Recreation Department and the Parkview Activity Center that mainly offers programs directed towards the youth. This facility offers a gym, pool tables, ping-pong tables, a weight room and activity rooms.

Lumberton Recreation Department also offers activities for the outdoors man. Luther Britt Park, located in West Lumberton, offers 2 lakes, totaling 35 acres of water that allow for fishing, swimming and boating. Nature trails and picnic facilities are also available.
